Despite the early hour of the day, I couldn’t help but pull over to capture this scene when passing Invercargill’s watertower on the way home from an unsuccessful Aurora chase.
I was so pleased with the results I figured it was worthy of sharing with you all.

Winter can be a long dark 3 months of freezing temperatures and depressing bleak days; so we decided to start this winter off with a bit of colourful fun.
Layton’s been dabbling in astrophotography since we first discovered what an Aurora was a few years ago.
He’s had many successes both with Aurora and other forms of astrophotography; but he’s always wanting to push himself and improve his skills in this area.
Life can get hectic at times. With so much going on it can feel like there’s no light in a never ending tunnel. It’s easy to get lost in day to day living and loose sight of what’s really important. It’s also easy to forget that every day we’re alive, is a day we can be thankful for.
We’ve both been going a little stir crazy and our lives have been so frantic and unforgiving that when a last minute change of plans meant we had a few spare hours the next day, Layton suggested we make use of the time and selfishly take some time out for ourselves.
